The Oregon REALTORS® (OR) is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the state, representing more than 18,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate profession. Members include both residential and commercial brokers, managing principal brokers, property managers, and industry affiliates.
OR was established in 1932 to organize the real estate profession in Oregon. Today, the Association is the REALTORS®‘ real estate business advocate, a force for education, and a legislative advocate for free enterprise and private property rights in Oregon. The Association’s core purpose is to advance the ability of Oregon REALTORS® to practice the real estate profession in an ethical, profitable and successful manner.
The work of the Association is overseen by a 15 member Executive Committee, headed by the President of the Association, and by a 100+ member Board of Directors, representative of 25 local associations/boards from across the state. OAR is funded by annual membership dues, special events, and sponsorships. Real estate professionals throughout Oregon look to OAR as a leading provider of high quality real estate business services including educational seminars, risk management services, political and legislative advocacy, and professional standards training and enforcement.
To help advance the business interests of its members, the Oregon Association of REALTORS® organizes the Resources, Education, Advocacy and Legal tools available to its members in the following way:
- Resources in risk management, ethics enforcement, networking, and more
- Education offerings and opportunities
- Advocacy on behalf of REALTORS® in the Oregon Legislature and in front of regulatory agencies
- Legal tools and education
